Located close to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Siam Mandarina Hotel offers a nice balance of comfort and convenience, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers. The strategic location of the hotel provides easy access for those flying in or out of the city.

Free Shuttle Service

One of the convenient features of the hotel is its complimentary airport shuttle service, ensuring a hassle-free transfer to and from Suvarnabhumi Airport. This service operates 24/7 but the shuttle goes back and forth to the airport at specific scheduled times. The shuttle operation times are conveniently posted in the lobby area and the front desk staff can also help in this matter as well. Whether it’s an early morning flight or a late-night arrival, the hotel’s shuttle service is always ready to assist, making every journey seamless and stress-free.

When I arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport and got to the waiting area around 2:40 pm, I did not find any hotel representative inside the airport. I had to ask around for the shuttle and eventually, a helpful airport staff connected me to the right person who took me to it. Once I was seated, it was a smooth and comfortable ride directly to the hotel. The shuttle parked right in front of the hotel and several staff members immediately sprang into action and started carrying everyone’s luggage into the lobby.

The hotel lobby appeared a little small compared to other hotels I have stayed in but it was functional and tastefully decorated. There was a waiting area for guests. The check-in counter was spacious enough to accommodate several guests at the same time. The hotel restaurant was also located on the same floor.

The room I selected for my stay was the Executive Suite. I was staying for two nights and I wanted a room where I could spread out a little and also enjoy the view of the airport from the hotel. And this particular room offered both. As I entered the room, I noticed the long layout of the living space with windows all around and tons of light pouring in. Right in front of the entrance was a decent sized couch facing the TV on the wall. In the middle of the room was a small dining table and the far end of the room had a desk with a comfortable chair to sit and work. On the right-hand side of the room was a cabinet with shelf space which housed the electric kettle, coffee/tea amenities, mini refrigerator, etc. Also, along the right-hand side of the room, there were two doors, one leading to the bedroom and the other one closer to the entrance leading to the bathroom.

The bedroom was quite large and accommodating and had all the necessary amenities. One entire wall of the bedroom was top to bottom glass window with curtains for privacy. There were also blackout curtains if one needed to cut off all the light coming into the room. The bedroom had a safety locker in the closet. There was a long table running along the wall which had the TV. This was a very helpful space to declutter my small items and spread them out. Another door from the bedroom led to a mini passageway to the bathroom which was also accessible from the living room.

The bathroom was of good size and was clean. Liquid soap, shampoo and hair conditioner were provided in large bottles placed in fixtures attached to the wall. Other necessary amenities such as bar soap, toothbrush kits, etc. were placed in the sink area. A fair number of towels of different sizes were provided and were stacked neatly in dedicated racks. Overall, the bathroom might not have been spectacular, but it generously met all the basic requirements and fulfilled all my needs and I was quite satisfied with it. Also, being able to access the bathroom from both the bedroom and the living room was very convenient.

The best part of the executive suite was the direct view of Suvarnabhumi Airport runway from the living room. The room had top-to-both glass windows that offered a clear view of airplanes landing and taking off throughout the day. I was impressed by the fact that there were no smudges on the windows and the glass was very clean. This room should be a favorite among aviation enthusiasts. My only regret was not having my mirrorless camera with a dedicated zoom lens.

The view immediate to the hotel was not the greatest but one can easily overlook that and enjoy the view beyond. One thing to keep in mind is that the room can get extremely bright and hot during the day but adjusting the room temperature and using the curtains appropriately can mitigate both problems.

Overall, I felt that the room was a little dated but it generously offered all the necessary amenities. It also had a certain charm and character which I really liked. The bed was very comfortable and a sufficient number of pillows were provided. I usually do not sleep well in hotels but this time I felt very comfortable and had one of my best sleeps.

Breakfast

One of the wonderful perks of staying at Siam Mandarina Hotel is the delightful breakfast offered each morning. I felt the breakfast buffet was extensive, featuring a wide range of options to suit all palates. The continental breakfast included a variety of pastries, bread, cereals, and fresh fruit, accompanied by an assortment of cheeses and cold cuts. There were also several yogurt options for those seeking a lighter start to their day. The hot breakfast offered heartier options and included an egg station where guests could order eggs based on their preferences. Traditional Thai and Asian breakfast dishes, such as rice porridge and stir-fried noodles and vegetables, were also available offering a taste of local flavors. There were a variety of beverage options including freshly brewed coffee, a selection of teas, milk, and fruit juice.

The dining area was large and tables were laid out with sufficient space in between them. The tables placed next to the wall had booth type seating for a more comfortable experience.

Conclusion

In summary, Siam Mandarina Hotel in Bangkok offers a comprehensive and comfortable experience for its guests. With its close proximity to the airport, thoughtful amenities, attentive and caring staff, and good service, it stands out as a premier choice for travelers seeking a blend of comfort and convenience. The delightful breakfast offerings further enhance the experience, making it a highly recommended destination for anyone seeking to stay close to the airport.
