The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Bangkok is located very close to the airport. It is a modern hotel offering all the standard features and amenities. The hotel provides a 24/7 shuttle service so getting to the hotel from the airport is very easy. There is also a dedicated service desk at Suvarnabhumi airport on the arrival hall right next to gate 4. This makes it very convenient for passengers flying into Bangkok to easily locate them and use the shuttle service. It is also possible to walk to the hotel directly from the airport via underground walkway.
I used the shuttle service since it was the logical thing to do as I had luggage with me and I did not want to drag my bags all the way to the hotel. The staff providing the shuttle service were very courteous and took care of my luggage right away as they ushered me toward the shuttle parked right outside. While the hotel is in close proximity to the airport, it takes slightly longer to get there since there is no direct road to the hotel. Once we reached the hotel, the shuttle stopped right in front of the entrance where a bellboy immediately took my luggage and guided me to the hotel lobby for check in.
The hotel lobby is quite grand and expansive. When I got to the check in counter, the wait time was minimal. I was immediately checked in and was assigned a room on the upper floor as requested during booking time. I was provided with a complimentary box of chocolate and was directed to the elevator lobby. I headed straight to the lobby and to my room and waited for my bags to be dropped off which arrived promptly. The entire process was very smooth and the service was very pleasant.

The room I got was about 35 sqm and had a king bed. It was spacious and there was a large window at the far end of the room covering the entire wall. The bathroom was located on the left-hand side from the entrance into the room. A closet was also provided which was located right next to the bathroom. The closet had ample space to hang clothes and multiple drawers for storage. A pair of robes along with two sets of slippers were placed in the closet. The closet also included a combination locker to store valuables.

Past the entry way, the living space was carpeted and was tastefully decorated with various fixtures. The carpet had a nice pattern and looked clean and new. A luggage rack was provided against the wall on the right side next to the entertainment center with a 32-inch tv set on top of it. At the far end close to the window was a L shaped desk with one part filled with complimentary beverage and snack options. The other part facing the window was left empty for personal use. A comfortable chair was also provided for using at the desk. Right across from the desk on the other side along the window and next to the bed was another table and a chair. This table was smaller with a round glass top and was set as a place to sit and relax.

The bathroom was clean and functional and had all the necessary amenities for a hotel of this standard. Toothbrush kits, combs, etc. were neatly placed on the sink counter including a bar soap with pleasant and calming fragrance. A couple of water bottles and glasses were also left on a tray on the counter. There was a bathtub against the wall with a window facing the room. Right above the bathtub was a clothesline that could be drawn out when drying clothes. Additionally, there was also a shower stall with complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles attached to a fixture on the wall inside the stall. After using the shower, I can attest that the hot water worked well and the water pressure was strong.

The king size bed had good quality mattress and pillows and was very comfortable. The headboard was sturdy and the cushion on it was soft making it ideal to lean back on for reading or watching tv. The bedside lamps on either side of the bed provided ample lighting. One of the bedside tables had a telephone and master controller for the room. The bed was very cozy and I felt very relaxed lying on it. I did have very good sleep on this bed and woke up quite refreshed.

The room provided all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The size of the room felt about right and the large window facing the airport made it feel very open and spacious. Although I would have preferred a view of the airport tarmac or runway, I am not sure this is possible due to the location of the hotel. But I did get a nice view of the airport from my room.

Overall, my stay at this hotel was pleasant and relaxing. It is in close proximity to the airport so getting to the hotel from the airport does not take very long. The dedicated service desk at the airport for the shuttle service makes it easy and stress free for anyone who needs to get to the hotel after a long flight. In my experience, the staff have been pleasant, courteous and helpful. The hotel also has several restaurants on site and provides room service for meals. There is also an option for breakfast service.. The direct connectivity from the hotel to the airport via underground walkway is an added bonus. However, the price per night at this hotel can be higher than other airport hotels around Suvarnabhumi Airport. Of course, those hotels might not have the same premium offerings as this hotel. But they might offer something different such as bigger rooms at lower prices or views of the airport tarmac or runway. I would still recommend the Hyatt Regency Hotel because of the facilities offered and the standard that is to be expected from this hotel chain.
